June 17, 2010 - STRI - The Ultra HVDC Specialist
Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) with 800 kV is now being implemented in China and India to efficiently transmit large amounts of energy over long distances from remote hydro power plants. STRI has been involved in the testing of this new technology during the past couple of years both for China and India. This includes testing of basically all components such as bushings and converters as well as a long term test of a complete system during different seasons energized at 850 kV for ABB. June 14, 2010 - A European centre for Smart Grids and electrical energy storage
EIT - European Institute of Technology and Innovation has within "Sustainable energy" designated "KIC InnoEnergy" as the new European consortium for innovative energy technologies, energy research and education. STRI will in close cooperation with the Royal Institute of technology and Uppsala University participate as network partner in the Swedish collocation center responsible for Smart Grids and electrical energy storage.
