Other Tests Performed: DSL - Dry Salt Layer method: A method that simulates the deposit of air-borne contaminants with a negligible non-soluble component, typical of coastal conditions. The DSL is applicable to all types of insulators and apparatus and can be used for both a.c. and d.c. DCM - Dust Cycle Method: A pollution test method valid for all environments with a significant amount of non-soluble pollution deposit, e.g. desert and industrial environments. The DCM has the same test philosophy and applicability as the DSL.
