STRI is an independent technology consulting company and an accredited high voltage laboratory. Our main office and laboratory facilities are located in Ludvika, Sweden with branch offices in Gothenburg and Västerås. Our ambition is to support the work of efficient and reliable electric power solutions for a "green" future with minimum impact on the environment.

We have leading-edge competence within power technology including: high voltage insulation, line and substation design, system analysis and solutions, power quality, EMC and EMF, wind power and distributed generation, maintenance methods, on-line monitoring and diagnostics, power utility automation and protection, high voltage and environmental testing, measurement and calibration.

STRI is involved in several R&D and standardization projects to further develop power technology and its applications to provide "green" and efficient solutions such as Ultra High Voltage AC and DC (UHVAC & UHVDC), multi terminal HVDC VSC, cable testing and application, off-shore grid applications, enhanced communication with IEC61850, energy storage and Smart Grid applications.

We have access to various own dedicated software such as IST and LPE as well as EMTP, NEPLAN, PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS-E etc.

Besides our various high voltage testing facilities for dielectric withstand, pollution, snow and ice, salt-fog and multi-stress testing, STRI has a unique multivendor testing facility for IEC61850 and is building a Micro Grid R&D platform for testing of different Smart Grid applications with renewable electricity production, electrical cars and energy storage.
