Maintenance and Diagnostics
Because the whole society is depending on a reliable and continuous power supply, power companies and utilities are focusing on limiting customer outages. At the same time power companies and utilities are trying to reduce costs for maintenance and looking for methods to predict the remaining life time of their valuable assets.
Improvement and development of maintenance-, diagnostic- and monitoring methods, as well as tools for analysis of the results are activities that are needed to obtain these goals.
At STRI, the technical area of Maintenance and Diagnostics are focusing on the above issues. We have experience with amongst others live-line maintenance, cable diagnostics, generator monitoring, maintenance methods for switchgear, wireless temperature measurements, line joint diagnostics, failure cause analysis etc.
