STRI in R&D

STRI was originally founded as a Transmission Research Institute. Today our R&D activities has been extended to cover the complete T&D technology area but also new technologies such as Power Quality and DER. (Distributed Energy Resources)

STRI perform many design tests for various manufacturers as part of their R&D. Many of our R&D projects are carried out as joint activities for several companies. STRI is for example engaged in various projects for the Nordic Transmission System Operators. We are also participants in national and European R&D programs. Finally STRI has own R&D projects. Examples are software development for system analysis, web based diagnostics and distributed series compensation.

The result of an R&D project may sometime be confidential until a product or method is implemented, but most of our R&D projects will result in a published report, STRI Guide or paper together with other participants.
