December 2, 2011 - STRI on EWEA discussing wind, HVDC and cables for offshore grids
STRI participated in the OFFSHORE 2011 event in Amsterdam 29 November – 1 December, 2011 arranged by EWEA. This was the world's largest offshore wind energy event with more than 7000 participants and almost 500 exhibitors. The press release in conjunction with the new report "Wind in our sails" stated: "Over 141 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind energy capacity is built, under construction, consented, or planned in Europe." December 1, 2011 - STRI at the forefront of Smart Grid Technologies
STRI is involved in several "Smart Grid" projects focusing especially on wind power integration, storage, communication and the application of power electronics. This involves a Micro Grid Research Development and Demonstration platform used within a High Voltage Valley project with financing from Vinnova, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. STRI is now participating in the "2nd IEEE PES International Conference and Exhibition on "Innovative Smart Grid Technologies " ISGT 2011 in Manchester UK (December 5-7) with several activities. November 30, 2011 - IEC 61850 Hands on training continuing success
STRI is continuing arranging our popular hands on training courses integrating multivendor IEDs,tools and test equipment. The latest general course was held in Gothenburg, Sweden 19-21 October, 2011 with participants from 8 companies and universities from five countries. The latest customer specific course was for Svenska Kraftnät (The Swedish TSO) in Sundbyberg, Sweden 16-17 November, 2011. In total STRI has now arranged 23 hands-on-courses all around the world in all major continents for almost 400 participants from 140 companies in 33 countries. Read more...
