Live-line working 70 - 130 kV
It is increasingly difficult to obtain outages for routine maintenance and inspection of transmission and distribution systems. In many cases it makes much more sense, and is often more economical, to perform this work with live-line methods. STRI specialise in the development of methodologies for transmission voltages. Despite some of the toughest health and safety legislation in the world, we have been successful in developing bare-hand methodology for 130 kV, together with our partners ELTEL AS, for the Norwegian market. At our site in Ludvika, Sweden we have a purpose built training facility. We have also worked extensively with live-line diagnostic methods for transmission lines and substations.
