"Due to our location, the outdoor switchyards are frequently exposed to salt deposition from the sea. For a nuclear power station, continuous service is very important, why optimized maintenance procedures (automatic washing and greasing) are required. The investigation by STRI on the maintenance procedures at Ringhals nuclear power station, made in tight collaboration with Ringhals, has lead to practical recommendations which made it possible to reduce the annual costs for maintenance with almost 50%, which is about 70000 Euro."
